Activities

When staying at Angorichina Station you will receive the personalised attention of your hosts Di and Ian Fargher. Di and Ian only accept one booking at a time, so that means that when you stay at Angorichina Station it is on an exclusive basis!

Di and Ian ensure that your stay at Angorichina Station is tailored to suit your interests. There is no minimum night stay required, however if you have the time at least 3 to 5 nights is recommended. This will allow you to experience a diverse range of interesting activities and to appreciate the vastness of this stunning location.

Station Tours

Angorichina Station is a working sheep property that encompasses 500 square kilometres of mountains, creeks, gorges and hills.
There’s always something happening on a sheep station, and you are welcome to join in whatever activities the Fargher’s have going. You can take part in seasonal activities such as sheep mustering and shearing, or join Ian on a bore run. A visit to the woolshed is a must; it is possibly the only native pine woodshed still in use in Australia.

Sundowners

A stay is not complete without a drive with Ian to one of the high peaks around the property to watch the sunset with drinks. This is also a time when the wildlife becomes active, and the hills are suddenly alive with wallabies, emus and kangaroos.

4WD Tours

Angorichina is also ideally situated for those who want to explore the highlights of the surrounding mountain ranges. The Oratunga Track leads to the scenic highlights on Angorichina: Artimore Ruins, Patawarta Hill and Nildottie Gap, where yellow-footed rock wallabies can be seen in the late afternoon. This 50km-long track is a thrilling excursion for 4WD enthusiasts, nature lovers, photographers, history buffs and anyone with an interest in geology.

While out exploring the Flinders Ranges, guests often have the opportunity to pay a visit to one of Australia’s most famous outback pubs, the Prairie Hotel.

Scenic Flights

If you want to take to the skies, Ian, an experienced pilot, will show you the Flinders Ranges from above in his Cessna 172 or Cessna 206 single-engine aircrafts (additional cost). And, if his aerial geology lesson triggers a passion, Brachina Geological Trail, in the nearby Flinders Ranges National Park, can take you on a 60-million-year journey through the Earth’s history.
